It's Previews time! Spider-Island starts this week. Is that enough to get me to finally break down and pick up Amazing Spider-Man? Keep reading to find out. (Maybe.)
Amazing Spider-Man #666
- Written by Dan Slott
- Penciled by Stefano Caselli
- Cover by Mike Del Mundo
- Variant Cover by Humberto Ramos
THE SPIDER-MAN STORY OF THE DECADE BEGINS WITH THS “SPIDER-ISLAND: PRELUDE”
Super-star writer Dan Slott and fan-favorite Spidey artist Stefano Caselli are back! New York has been INFESTED and the web grows as it gets ready to explode into SPIDER-ISLAND! Normal people are getting Spider-Powers! But not all of them realize that with great power must also come ….you know the rest. Okay, sure we often say Peter Parker’s life will never be the same. But listen, pal, we’ve never been more serious. Heroes and villains are crawling all over Manahttan and no one knows why. This will change everything for Pete, for Spidey…and possibly for YOU! Look at it this way…If EVERYONE’S a Spider-Man… then no one is.
It's time again for me to consider getting Amazing Spider-Man and then not get it after all. The thing is, Spidey's always gonna be there whether I get it or not. I can always get trades. Yes, I've picked up some issues here and there, and if this looks super awesome after the fact, I'll probably pick it up then. But, now? Now I'd rather support some new, interesting things. Like several minis/series coming out from Image in the next few months.

Detective Comics #880
- Written by Scott Snyder
- Art by Jock & Francesco Francavilla
- Cover by Jock
It all comes down to this! The Joker is on the loose in the catacombs beneath Gotham City, more vicious and frightening than ever. But even as Batman closes in on The Clown Prince of Crime, he begins to suspect that the city may be the target of an even deadlier threat – one that could shake Gotham City to its core.
Double-shipping this month, so I haven't seen the previous issue. I will say, though, that I have loved every issue of Scott Snyder's run (and it wouldn't be what it is without the amazing art from Jock and Francesco Francavilla), and I'm so sad that it's almost over already. (Even if Snyder's continuing onto Batman.)

Disney • Muppets Presents: Meet the Muppets
- Writing, Pencils & Cover by Roger Langridge
The Muppet Show is out to corrupt a new medium as all your favorite Muppets return in this giant comic! Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzy, Gonzo and the gang revive their variety show and bring back favorite sketches like “Pigs in Space” and “Veterinarian’s Hospital!” Kermit misses the swamp, and the gang tries to cheer him up. Fozzy revamps his standup act, but everything he tries gets the same boos as his original routine. Scooter attempts to figure out once and for all what species Gonzo belongs to. And a psychic tells Miss Piggy she’s going to lose something green.
Even though it feels a little jerky for Marvel to act like they didn't get this from Boom, it's still an oversized 96 pages of the Muppets for six bucks. Hard to pass up, though I feel bad about not getting the Boom trade. (This is just the first mini reprinted, right?)

FF #7
- Written by Jonathan Hickman
- Pencils by Greg Tocchini
- Cover by Mark Bagley
The Return of the King.
Black Bolt is back and is determined to reclaim his throne.
Another double-ship. But that means two issues centered on Black Bolt (and possibly the rest of the Inhumans) and that means this will be a good month, indeed.

Wolverine & Deadpool: The Decoy
- Written by Stuart Moore

Wolverine, Deadpool and a 15-Foot-Killer Robot walk down the street. Wolverine and Deadpool walk into a bar. The 15-Foot-Killer Robot ducks.
He still hits his head. Now buy this book.
Yes, I know. It's both Wolverine and Deadpool. We have just won Marvel bingo. But, it looks like it could be a fun ride, so I'll give it a shot if it'll fit into the monthly budget.
